What's New? 2009 in Review

Happy New Year! The Year 2009 was a productive year for enhancing EventPro Planner Software.

The latest optional module, the Resource Management Module, was released. Its features provide enhanced resource organization, quicker data entry, and extensive conflict checking capabilities. You can read more about the Resource Management Module on the website, or contact our Sales Department for a preview.
There were also two major updates, released approximately six months apart, which incorporated many exciting new and enhanced features into the software. Areas updated include Event Setup & Organization, Communications, Attendees & Guests, Companies & Contacts and Exhibitors, to name a few. Helpful Hint: Save Time with Communication Defaults

If you want to save some time when working with Communications, make sure that you have set the new communication defaults in your System Settings. If you take a few minutes now to adjust these settings, you can avoid repetitive data entry in the future. In the program, select Setup | System Settings from EventPro Planner’s main menu, and click on the Communications tab.

For some of the default settings, you can choose whether EventPro Planner will always perform the task, never perform the task, or prompt you each time to ask whether you want to:
  • Save the communication after the email is sent
  • Save the letter content after the email is sent
  • Create a follow up action after the communication is saved
  • Save incoming attachments after the communication is saved (Enterprise Edition only)
  • Save outgoing attachments after the communication is saved (Enterprise Edition only)
For the other settings, you can choose the default entry that will appear in the field, so that you do not have to select one every time you create a communication. In your system settings, you can choose the default:
  • Outgoing communication method
  • Incoming communication method
  • Incoming communication reference
  • Subject format for an event report communication
  • Whether to show the company name in the subject of a report communication
Saving a few seconds each time you send a communication will add up to a lot of time over the year! To learn more about Communication System Settings, refer to the EventPro Planner User Manual at Chapter 2: Setting Up EventPro Planner, Step 1: System Settings, Communications.

Did You Know? Attendee Classifications are Color-Coded

Did You Know… that EventPro Planner has a great new color-coding system for Attendee classifications? With a quick glance at the screen, you can tell whether an Attendee is a Presenter, Sponsor, Exhibitor and more.

To view this new color-coding system, go to the Attendees tab in the Event Maintenance screen. If you choose the Single-By Name, Single-By Type or Single By-Company view, the color-coded boxes are located in the bottom right corner of the Attendee information area. In any of the list views, the selection grid will be highlighted with the various classification colors. If you edit or view an attendee, the color-coded boxes appear along the top of the Edit or View form.
Regardless of where you view the attendee, the color-coding scheme is the same: Pink = Linked Contact, Red = Flagged, Blue = Exhibitor, Olive Green = Presenter, Dark Green = Sponsor, Orange = Guest, and Yellow = Financial Group Leader. Once you’re accustomed to the color-coding, a quick look is all you’ll need to identify the classification of various attendees. For more information, consult the EventPro Planner User Manual at Chapter 8: Manage Attendees, Attendee Overview and Enter a Single Attendee.
The new Attendee Classification color-coding is one of the many enhancements added to EventPro Planner on a regular basis. Any time you want to see what is new in EventPro Planner, click on Help | What’s New in the program. Remember: Only clients with an annual Upgrade Protection Plan can access the downloads that provide these great new features.

Software Update: Version 2.2.2.507

To download the newest Software Update, log in to the EventPro Planner Support Website. Click on the Downloads tab and click on the EventPro Planner Install 2.2.2.507 link.

Remember, you can also choose to abstain from adding the latest new and enhanced features at this time and still receive an upgrade to the software which provides the most recent bug fixes only. To do this, click on the link appearing under Previous Version(s).
Software Updates are only available to customers with a current Upgrade Protection Plan.
